Why am I supporting my Mom? Well, she’s always supported my brothers and I -- so why not? She was a die-hard soccer Mom and each year was elected “Team Parent.” Though she worked long hours, there was never a game she missed, whether it was in the scorching heat or blistering cold. From our confusing adolescent years to our adult-hood obstacles, my Mom has always been the one we called upon for solutions, reassurance, and consoling. Her friends can also attest that my Mom will bend over backwards to help them in any way possible. Through the years my Mom has taught me to never judge, to never give up and to follow my heart. She has given me a shoulder to cry on but has also created tears from uncontrollable laughter. I am proud to say that she is not just my Mom, she is my friend.
So as you can see, the reason I am supporting my Mom is not
because I am her daughter. I am her biggest fan and number one
volunteer because she is my best friend and I think the world of her,
and because she genuinely cares for individuals and their well-being.
As Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) my Mom and I voluntarily
devoted our time to children who became wards of the state due to abuse
and neglect. Not only did this create a great mother-daughter bonding
experience, but I witnessed my Mom's unconditional work-ethic, teamwork,
commitment, and love towards these children, making her even more
admirable in my eyes.
Despite the dreadful heat, we are getting the chance to bond, once
again, by knocking door-to-door every night during this amazing campaign season. Because of my Mom's energy, genuineness, and beautiful smile, it
is impossible for one to meet my Mom and not win their vote, Democrat
or not. Meeting our constituents has been a huge success and will
become even greater once we get closer to Election Day.
My Mom is a strong independent woman who is full of compassion and
character. I believe the people of Nevada would be incredibly lucky to have
her representation.
